Some picks age like wine; Jerry Wilson at the 48th pick will need to, sitting 221 spots clear of his grade.
Getting Allen where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick-by-Pick
A real head-scratcher, Jerry Wilson in the 48th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No drama and no debate, Skyler Bell went about where he belonged in pick No. 79. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They robbed the room for CJ Allen here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Zxavian Harris in the 215th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Nick Barrett in pick 231 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
