The rest of the league will want that one back. Brenen Thompson tumbling to the Rams in Round 6, Pick 26 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.
The Muhammad reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Hit on Malik Muhammad and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a lockdown presence outside, though the board says they badly overpaid.
They robbed the room for Caleb Lomu here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good price on Zakee Wheatley in pick 93, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Brenen Thompson in the 207th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Keyshaun Elliott in the Round 7 slot, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They let John Michael Gyllenborg come to them and pounced at Round 7, Pick 35. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Preston Hodge this early at the 252nd overall pick. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
