The Cardinals spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jay Higgins, the No. 61 name on the board, in the 123rd pick. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.
Allar has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
If Grey Zabel and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
They reached into another round for Grey Zabel, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Drew Allar. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had cheaper options than Alfred Collins at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. It fills a real need, too.
They will replay Jay Higgins at slot 123 for years; that is how good the value is. A need, and now a little less of one.
They talked themselves into Davison Igbinosun at No. 157, and the board did not agree. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
