Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Eagles, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. That Clark pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
They robbed the room for Quinyon Mitchell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Ladd McConkey in Round 2, Pick 20 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Calen Bullock at the 53rd overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A straight-up fair deal on Edgerrin Cooper at the 58th pick, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Chris Braswell in slot 59 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Christian Haynes slid further than he should have, and pick 83 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It fills a real need, too.
Braden Fiske at the 86th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Good price on Josh Newton in Round 3, Pick 25, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Gabriel Murphy slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Caelen Carson in slot 97. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Christian Mahogany in pick 100 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They took Sataoa Laumea at par in pick No. 124, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Justin Eboigbe at No. 128 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, MarShawn Lloyd in the 153rd overall pick, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Fair-plus on Renardo Green, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
By-the-book stuff, LaDarius Henderson at Round 5, Pick 34 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Braelon Allen at slot 171. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Cody Schrader in the Round 6 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Curtis Jacobs in pick 189 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Somehow De'Corian Clark was still sitting there in the 240th pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
