The rest of the league will want that one back. Junior Colson tumbling to the Commanders in No. 101 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The Justin Fields deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 2 they get a cornerstone up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No edge and no loss on Chop Robinson in No. 36; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They did well to land Zach Frazier in pick No. 67, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Circle this one: Junior Colson at the 101st pick is a fall that decides a draft. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They took Ben Sinnott at par in Round 5, Pick 2, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They read the board right and Chau Smith-Wade was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Omar Speights at the 220th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
