The Jaylon Hutchings selection is the head-turner. The Cowboys reached 108 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.
On value alone, McGlothern makes the weekend a net positive. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

In slot 24 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kiran Amegadjie at the 57th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jermaine Burton in pick No. 87 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Taking Brenden Rice in No. 125 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
You do not let a running back like Isaiah Davis reach Round 5, Pick 38 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Nathaniel Watson. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Dwight McGlothern in pick 233 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Josiah Ezirim at the 244th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value said wait; Jaylon Hutchings in slot 246 says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
