Boards are made to be trusted, and the Bills shredded theirs for Jimmy Rolder. He came off 33 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
On value alone, McAlister makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th overall pick they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Bryce Lance at No. 91 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jalon Kilgore in Round 4, Pick 26 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Zxavian Harris slid further than he should have, and the 165th pick is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board had Kage Casey higher than pick No. 168, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jimmy Rolder at pick 182 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Circle this one: Eric McAlister at slot 220 is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
