Nobody had Josiah Ezirim this high, and it is not close. The Cowboys reached 48 spots to get him at the 244th overall pick.
That Lovett pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Chop Robinson in the 24th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Nice patience on Cooper Beebe, who had no business lasting to No. 56. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value said wait; Tyler Davis in the Round 3 slot says they were not listening. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Isaiah Davis at pick No. 174 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
They robbed the room for Fabien Lovett here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They reached into another round for Matthew Jones, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
