The war room fell hard for Donovan Jennings, and it showed at the 257th overall pick: 35 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That Milton pick is the receipt they will wave around later. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
A real head-scratcher, Jaden Hicks in the Round 2 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Christian Haynes in No. 58. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Roger Rosengarten in the 88th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Khyree Jackson in the 91st overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Trevin Wallace. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Myles Harden at pick No. 169 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No drama and no debate, Edefuan Ulofoshio went about where he belonged in the 202nd pick. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Kimani Vidal slipping to No. 219 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jaylon Carlies well ahead of where he belonged. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Jalen Sundell in pick 255 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Kendall Milton at Round 7, Pick 36 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Donovan Jennings at slot 257 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
