The Packers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Myles Harden fell into slot 255. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The cost of the Okie-Anoma reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a potential shutdown corner, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A slide stopped in slot 41, with Nate Wiggins worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Keon Coleman slid further than he should have, and the Round 2 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Javon Bullard at Round 2, Pick 32 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Taking Kiran Amegadjie in pick No. 88 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Will Shipley at No. 91 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Erick All at the 126th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jordan Magee in the 169th overall pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Eyabi Okie-Anoma in No. 202 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tahj Washington in pick 219, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid a round early for Nick Samac in the Round 7 slot, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Myles Harden at slot 255 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
