Some picks age like wine; Sam Hartman at No. 239 will need to, sitting 44 spots clear of his grade. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The McGlothern pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 21 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
A conviction pick on Jaylen Wright at pick No. 63 that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 94 with a little surplus value in Dominick Puni. The roster fit checks out.
They let Jarrian Jones come to them and pounced at the Round 5 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Myles Cole at the 186th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
You do not let a cornerback like Dwight McGlothern reach Round 6, Pick 25 and blink. They did not. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
A big swing on Sam Hartman at the 239th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
