Miami Dolphins

Quarterback settled, Sanders in the fold, and a A- for the Dolphins.

by CMS · 2025 NFL Draft · 19 picks · 5 steals · 11 reaches
Value C
Need B
Trades A+
Future A+

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Dolphins reached some 101 spots for Thor Griffith, and value like that does not grow back.

However the rest shakes out, Burnip at that price is a win they earned. Everything downstream of Shedeur Sanders depends on Shedeur Sanders, and the building knows it. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.1 · Pick 1 · Shedeur Sanders · QB · rank 4
In the 1st overall pick they get a franchise quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
R1.13 · Pick 13 · Wyatt Milum · OT · rank 27
Wyatt Milum in No. 13 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R2.3 · Pick 35 · Armand Membou · OT · rank 48
Armand Membou at pick 35 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R2.16 · Pick 48 · Dylan Fairchild · OG · rank 85
Value said wait; Dylan Fairchild in Round 2, Pick 16 says they were not listening. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.34 · Pick 98 · Elijah Arroyo · TE · rank 95
Fair-plus on Elijah Arroyo, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.37 · Pick 101 · Carson Schwesinger · LB · rank 88
Carson Schwesinger in the 101st pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.13 · Pick 114 · Kurtis Rourke · QB · rank 138
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Kurtis Rourke well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.17 · Pick 118 · Darius Alexander · DT · rank 125
No drama and no debate, Darius Alexander went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 17. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.32 · Pick 133 · Willie Lampkin · OG · rank 173
They reached into another round for Willie Lampkin, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The roster fit checks out.
R5.3 · Pick 140 · Cam Skattebo · RB · rank 114
They will replay Cam Skattebo at No. 140 for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.13 · Pick 150 · Ty Hamilton · DT · rank 214
They reached a country mile for Ty Hamilton at pick No. 150, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.17 · Pick 154 · Addison West · OG · rank 189
A real head-scratcher, Addison West in the 154th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.30 · Pick 167 · Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson · OT · rank 255
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson at the Round 5 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It fills a real need, too.
R6.1 · Pick 176 · Thor Griffith · DL · rank 277
A big swing on Thor Griffith at slot 176, well ahead of any board in the building. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R7.8 · Pick 224 · Graham Mertz · QB · rank 308
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Graham Mertz. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.15 · Pick 231 · Shaun Dolac · LB · rank 281
They left a pile of value on the table to take Shaun Dolac this early at the 231st pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.23 · Pick 239 · Cody Lindenberg · LB · rank 223
Value with a capital V on Cody Lindenberg in the Round 7 slot, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.26 · Pick 242 · Hunter Wohler · S · rank 225
They let Hunter Wohler come to them and pounced at the 242nd overall pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R7.36 · Pick 252 · James Burnip · P · rank 162
A specialist of that caliber at pick 252 is the definition of value, full stop. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
