There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Dolphins never got to the one that mattered most.
However the rest shakes out, Hadden at that price is a win they earned. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 21 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Adisa Isaac at No. 64 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
By-the-book stuff, Jalen McMillan at the 95th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 158, where Mason McCormick graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kamal Hadden at the 184th pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Tip Reiman is a better player than pick 198 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They let Trevin Wallace come to them and pounced at the Round 7 slot. It fills a real need, too.
