There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Dolphins never got to the one that mattered most.
Owens at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 21 they get juice off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Kiran Amegadjie at Round 3, Pick 1 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Christian Mahogany in the 100th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Tommy Eichenberg in No. 141 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jarrian Jones in the 157th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Jefferson at pick 183, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyler Owens at the Round 7 slot is the proof. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
