Thirty-one other rooms let Terrion Arnold slide, and the Dolphins were the ones holding the card at the 55th pick. Highway robbery. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Terrion Arnold in No. 55 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They paid sticker price for Kiran Amegadjie in pick No. 66, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They jumped the gun on Christian Mahogany, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They paid a round early for Cedric Gray in slot 104, more than the board wanted. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jalyx Hunt at the 158th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Fabien Lovett in the 184th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cornelius Johnson at the Round 6 slot is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy little value on Dominique Hampton in the 241st pick, a step better than break-even. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
