The Chiefs torched the value chart for Caden Curry, taking him 46 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
The Wheatley steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
Kadyn Proctor in slot 9 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
In No. 29 they get a matchup problem out wide. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
D'Angelo Ponds in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Caden Curry well ahead of where he belonged. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No edge and no loss on Mike Washington Jr. in Round 4, Pick 9; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Steal is underselling it; Zakee Wheatley at the 114th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A real head-scratcher, Kaleb Proctor in Round 5, Pick 8 is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Kaleb Elarms-Orr at the 169th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Zavion Thomas at pick No. 176 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Keyshaun Elliott at slot 210 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
