There is a lot to like until you notice interior defensive lineman is still a hole. The Eagles never got to the one that mattered most. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They are betting Cooper proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Henderson. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a potential shutdown corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board had cheaper options than Edgerrin Cooper at slot 50, and it noticed. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kalen King in the Round 2 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A straight-up fair deal on Tykee Smith at pick No. 97, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nelson Ceaser at the 137th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jaylan Ford in pick 157 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
A slide stopped in the 172nd overall pick, with LaDarius Henderson worth more than the price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Nothing to complain about; Kaden Prather went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
