This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jermari Harris, the No. 92 name on the board, stolen at pick 201. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The cost of the Handy reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 27 they get a centerpiece for the ground game, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nice patience on Xavier Restrepo, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A cornerback of that caliber at pick No. 91 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Somehow Kamari Ramsey was still sitting there in the 127th pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
You do not let a linebacker like Deontae Lawson reach slot 162 and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Taking Jermari Harris in Round 6, Pick 26 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Logan Jones still on the board at the 242nd overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Stone Handy in pick 250, miles early. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
