More right than wrong for the Chiefs, and a B to prove it.

The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named quarterback, a need the Chiefs walked right past.

The Barner pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Mims falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Amarius Mims · OT · rank 24
In slot 32 they get a building block for the line at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.13 · Pick 45 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 53
They jumped the gun on Xavier Worthy, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.32 · Pick 95 · Trey Benson · RB · rank 87
A quiet steal in the 95th overall pick: Trey Benson for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R5.23 · Pick 159 · AJ Barner · TE · rank 172
A reach for AJ Barner in the 159th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.37 · Pick 173 · Khristian Boyd · DL-EDGE · rank 168
They did well to land Khristian Boyd in pick No. 173, just ahead of his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.32 · Pick 252 · LaDarius Henderson · OT · rank 253
A straight-up fair deal on LaDarius Henderson at Round 7, Pick 32, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
