Call it larceny. Ajani Cornelius sat on the board until the 172nd overall pick, and the Cowboys did not need to be asked twice.

The cost of the Sanders reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
