Call it larceny. Tyrone Tracy Jr. sat on the board until No. 168, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Amarius Mims reach slot 41 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They robbed the room for Kamari Lassiter here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
By-the-book stuff, Gabriel Murphy at Round 3, Pick 25 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Khyree Jackson in pick No. 91 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Nothing to complain about; Javon Foster went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
The board fumbled Tyrone Tracy Jr. all the way to the Round 5 slot, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.

Steele Chambers in the 219th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
No drama and no debate, Evan Williams went about where he belonged in slot 245. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Austin Reed in pick 255 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
