The board owed the Patriots one, and it paid up: Kyle Monangai, the No. 169 name on the board, sitting there at the 209th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. The bottom line is a respectable B.

If Henderson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
