It is the swing that defines the weekend: Trey Moore in the 144th overall pick, a good 34 spots before the room expected him.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Lew. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Jeremiyah Love at the 4th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Denzel Boston in pick 35 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Josiah Trotter at slot 66 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Connor Lew in pick No. 101 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Dametrious Crownover in No. 142 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Trey Moore in Round 5, Pick 4, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
DJ Campbell in pick No. 184 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Jalen Stroman went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A tidy little value on Zavion Thomas in pick 225, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
