There is a lot to like until you notice interior defensive lineman is still a hole. The Giants never got to the one that mattered most.
Dixon at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
A slide stopped in the 39th pick, with Kamari Lassiter worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jonah Elliss in No. 47 lands just on the right side of the ledger. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Chris Braswell in the Round 3 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Audric Estime slipping to pick No. 107 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Johnny Dixon in Round 5, Pick 7, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Aki Ogunbiyi in No. 185 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
