The rest of the league will want that one back. Lathan Ransom tumbling to the Cowboys in Round 6, Pick 11 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 12 they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Omarion Hampton in the 44th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
They robbed the room for Jihaad Campbell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No drama and no debate, Vernon Broughton went about where he belonged in slot 148. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nicholas Singleton in the Round 5 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jake Majors at No. 170 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Smael Mondon Jr. in Round 5, Pick 36, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They will replay Lathan Ransom at the 186th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A minor itch, scratched.
Theo Wease Jr. in the Round 6 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board fumbled Elijah Arroyo all the way to the 247th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
