The rest of the league will want that one back. Jalon Walker tumbling to the Chiefs in the 66th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Reaching for Cypress II left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with tight end chief among the fixes. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 31 they get a ballhawk on the back end, and a steal at that. Need was not the driver here.
A tidy bit of business in the 63rd pick, where TreVeyon Henderson graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board fumbled Jalon Walker all the way to No. 66, and they scooped it up. It fills a real need, too.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Mason Taylor at the 95th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Joshua Farmer at Round 4, Pick 36 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Addison West at pick No. 212 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Fentrell Cypress II at pick 256 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
