Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Eagles were there to profit. CJ Allen, the No. 32 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 54. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.26 · Pick 26 · Kenyon Sadiq · TE · rank 17
In No. 26 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · CJ Allen · LB · rank 32
CJ Allen at pick 54 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Jake Slaughter · C · rank 58
They let Jake Slaughter come to them and pounced at Round 3, Pick 4. The roster fit checks out.
R3.34 · Pick 98 · Kamari Ramsey · S · rank 78
Steal is underselling it; Kamari Ramsey at the 98th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
