The Chargers ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 7 they get a premier pass rusher. The biggest hole, addressed.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyler Nubin in slot 37. It adds depth where they could use a little.
By-the-book stuff, Mekhi Wingo at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Malachi Corley in the 105th pick, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They paid sticker price for Ben Sinnott in the 142nd overall pick, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
A tidy little value on Nathan Thomas in pick No. 183, a step better than break-even. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Miyan Williams in the Round 7 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
