The Dolphins did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jarrian Jones fell into No. 170.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 21 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid sticker price for Javon Bullard in slot 61, and that is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They took Cooper Beebe at par in pick No. 73, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
They let Marist Liufau come to them and pounced at the 157th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A cornerback of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
