Every other box got a look, but edge rusher did not. The Packers will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They are betting Cooper proves the room right and everyone else wrong. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Nothing to complain about; Tyler Nubin went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Edgerrin Cooper at pick 41 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They paid sticker price for T'Vondre Sweat in Round 2, Pick 25, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
They liked Mike Sainristil enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 66. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A conviction pick on Dominick Puni at the Round 3 slot that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Audric Estime. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Sataoa Laumea at No. 126 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Fair-plus on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
