The search is over. The Giants handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Burke that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
By-the-book stuff, Troy Franklin at No. 38 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Patrick Paul at the 47th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value with a capital V on Denzel Burke in Round 3, Pick 6, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Blake Fisher in slot 106 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on Antwaun Powell-Ryland in the 143rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
No drama and no debate, Michael Barrett went about where he belonged in pick 184. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
