Green Bay Packers

The Packers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Packers started one anyway for Keilan Robinson, 52 picks ahead of schedule. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Pearsall falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Olumuyiwa Fashanu · OT · rank 8
In slot 25 they get a building block for the line, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Kamari Lassiter · CB · rank 41
Kamari Lassiter in Round 2, Pick 9 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 61
No edge and no loss on Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 58; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Ricky Pearsall · WR · rank 59
Ricky Pearsall at the 88th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 113
Value said wait; Cedric Gray in pick 91 says they were not listening. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Isaac Guerendo · RB · rank 128
A straight-up fair deal on Isaac Guerendo at No. 126, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · AJ Barner · TE · rank 171
AJ Barner in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 200
Joe Milton III at slot 202 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Frank Gore Jr. · RB · rank 226
Frank Gore Jr. at the 219th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 233
Taking Trevin Wallace in No. 255 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
R7.36 · Pick 256 · Marcellas Dial · CB · rank 243
They let Marcellas Dial come to them and pounced at Round 7, Pick 36. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.39 · Pick 257 · Keilan Robinson · RB · rank 309
A real head-scratcher, Keilan Robinson in pick 257 is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
