You build a draft on nights like this. Tre Harris had no business being available in Round 7, Pick 32, and the Chiefs did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
They will need Bond to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a matchup problem out wide, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ajani Cornelius in pick No. 64. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Kenneth Grant in slot 69, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Oscar Delp at the 96th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They robbed the room for Ashton Gillotte here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Jabbar Muhammad in pick 160 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
Steal is underselling it; Jordan Hancock at No. 193 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Tre Harris at Round 7, Pick 32 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
