Miami Dolphins

Good, not great, for the Dolphins: B-.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Thor Griffith; the Dolphins did not wait, grabbing him 60 spots ahead at the Round 5 slot. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Landing Crenshaw-Dickson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.22 · Pick 22 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 20
In pick 22 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Tate Ratledge · OG · rank 57
Tate Ratledge at the 54th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
R4.22 · Pick 118 · Trey Zuhn III · OT · rank 141
Trey Zuhn III at slot 118 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.3 · Pick 131 · Thor Griffith · DT · rank 191
They reached into another round for Thor Griffith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.22 · Pick 150 · Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson · OT · rank 142
The board had Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson higher than the 150th overall pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.20 · Pick 212 · Jarquez Hunter · RB · rank 208
Fair-plus on Jarquez Hunter, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.22 · Pick 214 · Monaray Baldwin · WR · rank 235
They talked themselves into Monaray Baldwin at pick No. 214, and the board did not agree. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
