There is conviction, and then there is this. The Chiefs took David Ugwoegbu a full 77 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Bishop steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
