The Raiders clearly saw something nobody else did in Eric Gentry, taking him 133 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They have staked the next five years on Fernando Mendoza, which is the only story that really matters here. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Getting Wagner where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
