The Febechi Nwaiwu pick is the one that will follow the 49ers into the fall. They took him 34 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The Stukes pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Masses pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at wide receiver, running back and other spots.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th pick they get a security blanket over the middle, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
A.J. Haulcy slipping to No. 58 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Treydan Stukes at slot 127 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Harold Perkins Jr. in Round 4, Pick 33 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Hezekiah Masses adds a cornerback and leaves wide receiver, running back and other spots untouched.
