Thirty-one other rooms let Emmanuel McNeil-Warren slide, and the 49ers were the ones holding the card at Round 3, Pick 13. Highway robbery. No fireworks, but a solid B.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 27 they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Gabe Jacas in No. 46, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board fumbled Emmanuel McNeil-Warren all the way to pick 77, and they scooped it up. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Value with a capital V on Michael Trigg in the 127th overall pick, a genuine coup. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Gracen Halton at the 133rd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No drama and no debate, Dametrious Crownover went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 38. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A quiet steal in pick No. 139: Parker Brailsford for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
