The Commanders ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Ulofoshio. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The Beebe reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 19 they get protection for the quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Graham Barton at Round 2, Pick 4 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reach for J.J. McCarthy in No. 40; a little patience would have been rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
They jumped the gun on Cooper Beebe, taking him earlier than his grade liked. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Mike Sainristil slid further than he should have, and pick No. 100 is lovely value for the cornerback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board had Roman Wilson higher than slot 102, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No drama and no debate, Beaux Limmer went about where he belonged in the 141st overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Edefuan Ulofoshio in No. 181 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A slide stopped in pick 223, with JD Bertrand worth more than the price. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
