The Chargers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Tyler Nubin fell into the 70th pick. A weekend of give and take that grades a C+.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
If King pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
If Kalen King and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
Kalen King at No. 38 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Tyler Nubin in the Round 3 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Blake Corum in Round 3, Pick 8 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They took Cooper Beebe at par in pick 106, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
