The Dolphins put a flag in the ground for Jaheim Bell, 47 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Hit on T'Vondre Sweat and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, a steep price for the projection. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They reached a country mile for Zak Zinter at the 63rd overall pick, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jaheim Bell in the 94th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A reach for Joe Milton III in No. 155; a little patience would have been rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Christian Jones at pick No. 186 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
