The Giants' one glaring miss is offensive lineman, a need they left exactly as they found it. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The Rakestraw Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Oladapo has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. A real need, handled.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. is a better player than slot 47 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reach on Michael Hall Jr. in the 70th overall pick; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Braelon Allen in No. 107 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They went early on Kitan Oladapo in the Round 5 slot, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cornelius Johnson. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
