The Giants put a flag in the ground for Kaleb Elarms-Orr, 38 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Lance value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 5 they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In Round 1, Pick 10 they get a lead back with juice, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
A reach for Gennings Dunker in slot 37; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Bryce Lance in pick No. 105 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They reached a country mile for Kaleb Elarms-Orr at the 145th pick, and the board is aghast. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They took Ephesians Prysock at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
A conviction pick on VJ Payne at pick No. 192 that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A real head-scratcher, Aaron Graves in the 193rd pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
