Maye is the plan now, and the Patriots grade out a B.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The Coker value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.3 · Pick 3 · Drake Maye · QB · rank 7
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
R1.27 · Pick 27 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 32
In the 27th overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Kiran Amegadjie · OT · rank 63
Good price on Kiran Amegadjie in the 68th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
R4.3 · Pick 103 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 97
They did well to land Roger Rosengarten in slot 103, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.1 · Pick 137 · Tyler Davis · DT · rank 134
A tidy little value on Tyler Davis in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R6.5 · Pick 180 · James Williams · LB · rank 173
Fair-plus on James Williams, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R7.11 · Pick 231 · Jalen Coker · WR · rank 211
Jalen Coker at pick 231 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
