The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Fabien Lovett, the 231st overall pick, roughly 48 picks past where he belonged.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They are betting Fisher proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 3 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
In slot 17 they get a security blanket over the middle, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
No edge and no loss on Kiran Amegadjie in Round 3, Pick 4; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Blake Fisher at No. 103 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
James Williams slid further than he should have, and the 137th pick is lovely value for the linebacker. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
The board had Dillon Johnson higher than the Round 6 slot, and the running back fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Fabien Lovett in the 231st overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
