The Giants did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jayden Daniels fell into pick 39.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Allen to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Jayden Daniels in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
By-the-book stuff, Graham Barton at pick 47 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A safety of that caliber at Round 3, Pick 6 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No drama and no debate, Max Melton went about where he belonged in pick No. 107. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They paid a round early for Braelon Allen in slot 147, more than the board wanted. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Steal is underselling it; Joe Milton III at No. 185 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Zion Logue in the 256th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
