Boards are made to be trusted, and the Packers shredded theirs for Maema Njongmeta. He came off 84 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Getting Kinchens where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Byron Murphy II · DL · rank 17
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a load in the middle, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 21
They barely believed it either: Chop Robinson still on the board at slot 41. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Bralen Trice · DE-EDGE · rank 63
Bralen Trice in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Kamren Kinchens · S · rank 64
Kamren Kinchens in pick No. 88 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Patrick Paul · OT · rank 69
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 91 is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Blake Fisher · OT · rank 118
A tidy bit of business in the 126th pick, where Blake Fisher graded well above the range. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Javion Cohen · OG · rank 169
No drama and no debate, Javion Cohen went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Tahj Washington · WR · rank 189
Tahj Washington in the 202nd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Sam Hartman · QB · rank 258
Sam Hartman at Round 6, Pick 44 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Maema Njongmeta · LB · rank 329
This one needs a full-page explanation: Maema Njongmeta in pick No. 245, miles early. A minor itch, scratched.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Tyrice Knight · LB · rank 256
No edge and no loss on Tyrice Knight in the 255th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
