There is reaching, and then there is McKinnley Jackson at the 88th overall pick. The Packers jumped the board by 33 and dared it to prove them wrong. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The Budda Baker pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. The Ford steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th pick they get a downhill hitter at safety, though they paid up to get him. More want than need.
They took T'Vondre Sweat at par in the 41st overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Bralen Trice at pick 58 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
McKinnley Jackson at slot 88 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They did well to land DJ James in the Round 3 slot, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They went early on Christian Jones in No. 127, and the value did not follow. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Isaac Guerendo at the 168th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.

They paid sticker price for Garret Greenfield in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jordan Whittington in the 243rd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A straight-up fair deal on Kenny Logan Jr. at No. 251, value and slot in agreement. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
