Green Bay Packers

The Packers won the night they stopped Williams from sliding. Grade: B.

When a board-topper like Isaiah Williams slides to Round 6, Pick 44, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not.

A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. The Richardson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Dallas Turner · LB-EDGE · rank 14
In pick No. 25 they get a disruptor off the edge, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Bo Nix · QB · rank 23
Circle this one: Bo Nix at the 41st pick is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · T.J. Tampa · CB · rank 40
The board had T.J. Tampa higher than the Round 2 slot, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Michael Hall Jr. · DT · rank 89
No drama and no debate, Michael Hall Jr. went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 25. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.29 · Pick 92 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 80
Christian Mahogany at pick 92 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Isaiah Adams · OT · rank 122
Isaiah Adams at slot 125 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 154
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jaylen Wright well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Omar Speights · LB · rank 201
Omar Speights in No. 203 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Demani Richardson · S · rank 238
A big swing on Demani Richardson at the Round 6 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A minor itch, scratched.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Isaiah Williams · WR · rank 191
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 219th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.26 · Pick 246 · Walter Rouse · OT · rank 248
Walter Rouse at Round 7, Pick 26 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
