The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Hayden Hatten, taking him 55 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a building block for the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Kamren Kinchens in the 41st overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Will Shipley in No. 88 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They robbed the room for Brenden Rice here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy little value on Darius Robinson in pick No. 125, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jarrian Jones at pick 135 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Omar Speights at par in pick No. 203, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They went early on Matthew Jones in the 217th pick, and the value did not follow. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Dylan McMahon in Round 6, Pick 44 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A real head-scratcher, Hayden Hatten in the Round 7 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
